PLANTING HOPE
"SHALL WE GO BEFORE HIM?"
By Judy S. DuBois
As autumn moves into winter, the Christmas Season
takes center stage
in our thoughts and plans. Advent is celebrated by
many through the first 25 days of December. It is a
time to dwell on the activities preceding the birth of the
Christ Child as well as a time of personal contemplation.
In some churches, on the second, third and fourth
Sunday's John the Baptist is remembered as the
earthly herald calling in the desert.
Upon John's birth his father, the aged Zechariah, was
filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied.:
" And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most
High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the
way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender
mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us
from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in
the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.."
Luke 1:76-79
How awe inspiring that one voice brought a people to a
state of repentance.
There is a movement of Christians across America to
embrace II Chronicles 7:14. To believe it, pray it, apply
it their lives and ask God for revival and for America to
return to its Judeo-Christian foundation,
It reads:
"If my people who are called by my name will humble
themselves and pray
and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from
heaven and I will
forgive their sin and will heal their land."
We can repent and be prophets of the Most High and let our
light shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of
death that our feet and our nation be guided into the path of
peace.
The voice of the people called by His name can echo across
America. If we repent and speak truth, judgment on the Unites
States will be stayed. Then when Christ calls us out, many be
will be found faithful in a land of freedom founded on God's
principles.
Pray and vote.
